Performance at the `House of Commons ‘ June 18th 2013

I had the most delightful experience playing my song El Hayam  with Palestinian Singer and Songwriter Nizar Al Issa in Hebrew and Arabic at the House of Common  June 18th.

The occasion was the screening of the  emotional film ‘Within the Eye of the Storm’, the award winning documentary  by the Israeli director Shelley Hermon.

The film is about  Rami an Israeli  and Palestinian Bassam’s painful journey from being enemies to friends.  Both their  daughters were tragically killed in different violent incidents and through the Bereaved Family Forum / Parent’s Circle they came to the point of grieving together and as Rami said “ I lived in a bubble before the tragedy happened  and and I’ve been awakened”.

The screening was held with Universal Peace Federation support and

We took the opportunity to announce the future concert that I am organising  with The Universal Peace Federation on the 21st of September – The International Peace Day and Palestinians , Iranians and Israelis will perform  together  on one stage  at St Peter’s Church Notting Hill  and  all profits will go to wonderful work of

The Bereaved Family Forum / Parent’s Circle.

I have played in the past at the House of Commons, but the great hall was  stunning and steeped in history.

We weren’t  allowed to go to the room to do a sound check or rehearse before the event, so I took a big chance to rehearse at the hall . After few minutes a policeman came and asked us to stop !
