It is wonderful to reflect on the year and to look forward to the new year of 2017
and to thank many people that have made this year so special for me.
I started 2016 by filming the video for my song “Free Will”.
It was directed by Charles H. Joslain and we completed it recently, after an idea by my husband Simon, showing the story of me as a little girl sitting at the piano and demonstrating my own Free Will and growing into the women that I am today.

My husband was inspired by a photo we found of me sitting at a piano as a child
and it’s a nice closure for me.

A big thank you to Rupert Truman who filmed the new footages of the piano and as always capturing my journey this year through photographs.

Thanks to Charles Joslain and his team at the Central Film School.
Thanks to Gagik Karagheuzian for editing the video which, coincidentally was completed on the very same day that I composed the song on Christmas Eve all those years ago.

This year, the Jewish Festival Hanukkah also fell on Christmas Eve and is a perfect time to bring the message of celebrating light that the message of the song is all about.

In 2016 I released my single ‘A Love Song For You’ from the album of the same name.
The song was written as a surprise for my husband on our wedding day and I co-wrote it with Barry Upton, who has achieved global success with hits over the last three decades.

tally-koren-a-love-song-for-you_single_itunesThe wonderful Regional Radio team of Hart Media were involved in the campagne, spearheaded by the vibrant Jo Hart who introduced me to Cat Hockley from Fifth Element PR – thank you. It was also a real pleasure working with the National Radio promotersLisa Davis and Mike Armstrong.

For the release of the single I re-edited the video of the song with the help of Boyd Skinner who has been so loyal to me throughout the years – thanks Boyd!
The video premier was featured on the front page of the Female First magazine.

I was also invited by the TV station London Live for a thirty minute interview
with Vanessa Baffoe.

press on the photo to watch the interview:12928298_860467867409272_8600419452400050743_nThanks must also go to Robin Marsh and Margaret Ali for inviting me to speak at the House of Lords about Peace and Reconciliation.
This subject is so very important to me, though as a singer, it is easier for me to sing than to talk, so my heart was beating extra beats, especially after hearing the oratory talents
of Lords Eames OM. The biggest surprise for me was when Lord Eames concluded the meeting by saying that he was touched by my speech. So filled with Israeli Chutzpah, I spoke to him at the end and told him about my vision to have an event and to invite influential women from different Nationalities and Professions from around the World to discuss peace and to show the strength of the women through simple communication and to emphasise the
similarities of our cultures.

The event did happen and I would like to thank Lord Eames with all my heart for giving me that opportunity and believing in my vision of putting the emphasis
on building bridges.

I also had a very inspiring event on International Women’s day and would like to thank the main speakers Baroness Blood, the former Mayor of Enfield, Katie Anula the Palestinian Women’s right activist Ahalam Akram. We were entertained by the Bristol TV stars Livvy and Chrissie.

I have edited a special version of my song Free Will , starting with the piano version and ending with the Latin version in the hope that it will make everyone dance.

The launch of my album ‘A Love Song For You’ was at the heart of Piccadilly with great musicians and great guests, so I’d like to thank everyone who was there and especially Phil Curran who co produced the album with me.

For the first time in history  I used the words of Mozart himself from a letter that he wrote to his wife when and  made my own adaptation –   ‘One Million Kisses’ – to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, K.488

In August I was very privileged to be on the stage at the Shalom festival in Edinburgh and sing Jerusalem of Gold amongst other songs. It was very special for me to be at this Festival as a former fringe award winner but especially for the importance of its statement. Special thanks to Nigel Gooddrich for organising such an event.

I thank and I bless every moment of this year and feel very excited about next year.
Happy New Year to all of you and I hope you’ll be inspired by my song ‘Free Will’ to choose moments that are best for you and for the World!

I had the most delightful visit to Coventry when I was invited to sing at a BOPA conference held at the Belgrade Theatre.

My day started with a BBC interview with a wonderful presenter called Vic Minnet.

Press on the image to Listen –

bbc coventryAs I was on my way to see Coventry Cathedral later, she gave me a great tip of how to get the best first impression of the Cathedral which helped to make my visit such a profound one.

Her suggestion was to walk straight inside the Cathedral to the end and only then to look back at the ethereal work of the Saints and Angels engravings of John Hutton.

I followed Vic’s instructions and it was indeed an amazing experience.
It was so refreshing to see the same images that we have seen
throughout history, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance period but with a new interpretation.

The whole atmosphere of the Cathedral was of a welcoming place that anyone could come to pray or reflect.

IMG_3210

Friday evenings are special for me before the Sabbath and I decided to go to the Cathedral for the evening service.

There was just a small group in the congregation and I had a very warm welcome.

With the Holy atmosphere, I asked if it would be possible to light Friday night candles as this is a Jewish custom and I was so moved when the Rev Stephen Fielding (the new Canon Treasurer) agreed.

I asked him if it would be possible to also say the prayer that accompany’s the candle lighting and he allowed me to.

It was so moving to say the prayer in a Cathedral and a place of peace .

IMG_3226

The following day was also a very moving event at the Belgrade Theatre and Members of the British Organisation for People of Asian Origin made very inspiring speeches.

It was a great privilege for me to perform in front of such an esteemed audience that included Lords and Ladies,Bishops.
Mayors and Lord Lieutenants.

The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, Bishop of Coventry,

Mr Paul Sabhapati, West Midlands Queen’s Lord Lieutenant

This was such an important event especially in these days when the unity of all Nations is so very important .

As a person with a background of grandparents from Syria and Poland, the integration of East and West has become part of my life .
I sang ‘Free Will’ and Two Kisses.

Coventry is a truly wonderful place of reconciliation.

1.pink lion –
This is a wonderful memory that I got from January last year. I attented to the Midem music festival in Cannes where about 10.000 people from all around the world came to talk and do business in regards with music.
It’s definitely a great place for artists to do some networking and also meeting publishers and record labels. On the last day of my visit I decided to do a good meditation and visualisation before starting my long schedule day of meetings. It made me feel strong, focused and very relaxed.
I texted my husband, who is a Behaviour Strategist in Harley Street, and wrote – I feel like a pink lion. As a response, my husband sent me this wonderful photo that became my screen saver, reminding me that sensation of feeling strong but soft at the same time – Velvet glove with Iron fist .

2. On the same day I went to the Carlton hotel in Cannes, where all the exclusive people from the music industry have their meetings. With the attitude of a Pink Lion I was looking around and also very aware of what was going on. Suddenly I saw a man in his late sixties who was talking with the Warner music representative in Israel. I was drawn to talk to him even though I felt a bit shy. I looked at my pink lion photo and went straight and started to speak to him. I was thrilled to realise that my intuition was so strong as the man was the legendary -Seymour Stein, who was the founder of Sire Records which signed pioneer artists such as Talking Heads, The Pretenders , Madonna, Depeche Mode and many more . I told him about my song ‘Free Will’ and very soon I will actually send him the single!

3. Deciding to do the kickstarter campaign was a moment that I will never forget. To do such a campaign I had to work out of my comfort zone, as we all know that asking for money is not the easiest thing.

4. Recording string section for my single.
It was the first time that I had 14 players playing my songs. I absolutely loved it and it felt very emotional. The cinematic strings section were recorded by Haydn Bendall who’s previous credit include Kate Bush, Katie Melua and Dido. The beautiful strings arrangement was done by Phil Curran who worked with me on my previous BBC 2 playlisted single “Beauty of the Duty”.

What a fascinating evening I had last night in the House of Common for

United Nations International Women’s Day 2013.

The event was Hosted by Mr. Virendra Sharma MP and there were

so many inspiring women on the panel includes –

Lady Fiona Hodgson, chairman of GAPS – ( Gender action in peace security )

Charlotte Simon Co – Founder of Mothers in Congo.

Baroness Oona King of Bow – Diversity Executive as channel 4.

Brita Fernandez Schmidt – Executive Director – Woman For Woman.

Baroness Meral Hussein – Ece OBE.

Cllr. Mimi Harker OBE , Mayor of Amersham. Seema Malhotra, MP, PPS

and the wonderful  lady that was behind all the organisation of that event

Margaret  Keverian Ali Director of UPF.

You can imagine  with such a team of ladies how interesting was the event .

The main subject was violence towards women in the world .

I was shocked to hear stories about rapes and murdering women from babies to adult .

The only positive side of the event was to see the other side of the world, people that gives their  life to make a change for a better world.

We as individuals , can also contribute by spreading  the message around the world ,  Focus on the right campaigns and the most important,

make politicians  more aware of situation  and take actions !

Woman  were always the minority in the high positions  through history but we have the inner voice and  the power and when we comes to  positions

  We  make the change .

That was the main message from all the ladies on the panel that got to those high positions  and encourage us to do so as well.

Get into your  local communities , or get involve there are  so many organisations that needs your help now .

For  me as a singer songwriter that write about positive things –

changing and making a better life,

it was a real boost of inspiration !

I was asked at the end of the evening to sing a song.

The truth was that I wasn’t prepared at all  and my voice wasn’t warm to sing but it was such a moving event , with so many passionate people , so  I wanted to contribute as well and my way is with songs.

I chose to sing my song My River and sang it acapella

The song is  apparition for the goodness that we have and a prayer  for a better place .

My River

When the sun is shining
I am looking at my river
Seeing all that left behind
Fading far away.
I am looking at my river
Seeing Thy reflection
I smile to you with gratitude
For all the goodness that I haveI am talking to my river
When I feel your distance
I pray to you with all my heart
To wash my tears away

I listen to my river
In silence I can hear you
sings through me just words of love
Then I know that you are there .

When we were driving quite deep into the desert, we suddenly saw a building that looked like a mosque.  It happened to be ‘Nabo Mosa’ – Prophet Moses place of burial according to the Muslims.  I couldn’t believe it, I started to scream and cry in the car. Itzik the guy that took me to the desert didn’t know anything about me or the song but from all of the places in Israel he took me to the right place. ‘Calling You’ is a love song but people who look deeper into the lyrics will see that the main inspiration of the lyrics is Moses with parables taken from the Bible; ‘Will I ever see the promised land’. After walking for 40 years in the desert Moses never saw the promise land and the question is why?

When we started filming an Arab guy told us that we were not allowed to film as it’s a Holy place but I told him that my song is very spiritual and about Moses and he allowed us to continue. I felt so emotional and honoured. I went inside the place and as one of the rooms had a beautiful acoustic I started to sing the line ‘Can you hear my voice’ without the backing track, and the Angel heard me and a Muslim man came to me and shook my hand and asked if I am Jewish. He was such a kind man who deals with education and peace. A miracle into miracle, a Muslim and Jewish inside a mosque, feeling the vibrations in air, the warmth of the desert – the love – with the same roots & connection – Moses.

On the same day that I uploaded the video on YouTube, I was in a wonderful healing retreat. At lunchtime I shared with everyone the story about the miracle. One of the girls who I didn’t know was a Palestinian and her grandfather was the man that restored that building. I couldn’t believe that we were talking about the same place but I showed her video and it was the same place! Angels sometime hear us when we pray with sincerity.

In this video I’m sharing with you a bit of my long spiritual journey. It started from Eastern philosophy, meditation, yoga, Sai Baba, doing healing as Reiki, mystic therapy. Then I discovered that close to my roots there is much to find in Jewish Mysticism and I started to study the Kabbala.

I started with Doctor Tali Loewenthal studying the Hasidic texts of the Tanya book.  Then I had some classes with Rabbi Tatz. and my favourite teacher Jeremy Rosen who was the Rabbi of Yakar,  as he combines Kabbala, philosophy and psychology  in a very deep but also practical way. Then I studied two courses with the Kabbala Centre which is known to the world as a lot of celebrities like Madonna, Jerry Hall and many more have studied there.
Then life took me to do a degree of BA in Jewish studies which I was exposed to the holiest texts in Kabbala like the book of creation and the Zohar but also study philosopher as  Maimonides, Ramban, Spinoza  Martin Buber.  On the course I studied the history of Kabbala and  the academic side of the way it all developed. All this mixture of knowledge brought me to a very balanced way of seeing life and please join in and watch my video.
